Jane Addams was born in 1860 and died in 1935. She was a reformer, philosopher and American activist who created the first social housing in the United States, the Hull House. She studied at Rockford Female Seminaty in Illinois, made a trip to London, where she met the community center of Toynbee Hall, which encouraged her to do social work. It was for this motivation that created the social institution "Hull House" provided to immigrants, with child care and various educational programs.
In addition to this success, in 1910 she was the first woman to hold the presidency of the National Conference on Social Assistance, and that is why I like Jane Addams a lot, because women are little recognized when referring to history in general. She showed many things, won prizes and always fought for equal rights between men and women, that's why I like her to be one of the pioneering women of social work, and I like her famous saying "Work in the social". He was not born to comply with the law, but to interrogate her."
